Prosesi ini mempelai pria dan mempelai wanita saling melempar "Gantal", yaitu daun sirih yang dilinting berisi bunga pinang, kapur sirih, gambir, tembakau hitam.
Prosesi balangan gantal merupakan perlambang kedua mempelai saling melimpahkan kasih sayang, dimana gantal sebagai pertemuan jodoh antara mempelai wanita dan pria yang telah diikat dan disatukan dengan benang kasih yang suci. Perjodohan suci (sirih) yang telah terikat (benang kain) adalah pengetuk hati masing masing mempelai. Agar terbentuk kebulatan tekad dalam berikrar menempuh hidup baru.
Ada tujuh ikat daun sirih isi kapur sirih ikat benang putih. Untuk pria memegang 4 ikat dan wanita 3 ikat dengan pria dahulu yang melempar.
